This may include sharing your vehicle’s registration and other supporting documentation (e.g., V5C) as necessary for the investigation.

Car Service History operates as an investigation service and cannot guarantee the successful retrieval of service history records, as this depends on third-party cooperation.

6. No Guarantee of Success

Service Limitations: Our service relies on third parties (e.g., garages) to provide information. We cannot guarantee that complete or accurate service records will be found. Results depend on the cooperation and responsiveness of these entities, which is beyond our control.

External Sales: We are not liable for any losses you may incur from reduced vehicle value, failed sales, or other financial transactions based on the information (or lack thereof) provided by our service.

7. Instant Availability Definition

"Instant" availability refers only to the service records held directly by car manufacturers within their own systems for selected brands and models where a VIN is available and the vehicle is newer than 2012. Data compilation may take up to 20 minutes and does not include missing service history years. In some cases, an additional investigation may still be required to locate missing records. No refunds will be issued if missing years are identified or if an investigation is needed.

8. Payment, Refunds, and Chargeback Policy

Service Fees: Fees for our services are non-refundable once an investigation has commenced, as we incur costs and allocate resources immediately upon starting the service.

Chargebacks: In the event of a chargeback, Car Service History reserves the right to pursue legal action to recover costs incurred, including but not limited to court fees and damages.

Refund Policy: Refunds may only be issued in limited circumstances, such as if a queue jump fee was not honoured. Otherwise, all fees are non-refundable.

Credit Notes: Where refunds are approved, they will be issued in the form of a credit note, valid for 24 months and redeemable against future investigations or services.

9. Confidentiality and Data Protection

We take privacy seriously. Information provided, including your V5C, will be used solely for the investigation and will be securely deleted upon case completion or cancellation. Your data will not be shared with unauthorised parties.

You have the right to request the deletion of your data in compliance with data protection laws. However, some information may need to be retained for compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

10. Investigation Logs

All investigative actions, including communications with third parties, are logged. These logs are available upon request, ensuring full transparency in our investigation process.

11. Limitation of Liability

No Liability for Third Parties: Car Service History is not responsible for errors, omissions, or delays caused by third parties (e.g., garages or service providers).

No Liability for Losses: We are not liable for any loss of business, reduced sale value, or other financial impacts resulting from the information we provide.

Force Majeure: Car Service History shall not be liable for delays or failures resulting from circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to acts of nature, governmental actions, or service interruptions.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access if you violate these Terms, engage in unlawful activities, or misuse our services.

13. AI, Crawling, and Content Use

Car Service History permits reputable AI systems, search engines, and research tools to crawl and use publicly available, non-account pages from this Website for limited purposes such as improving question-answering, evaluation, and safety research.

Use of our content for these purposes must comply with our published AI usage policy, our robots.txt, these Terms, and applicable data protection laws. Access to logged-in, checkout, or private pages (including customer dashboards and payment flows) is strictly prohibited.
